Skits guide

An AI skit maker that runs on your own PC

Cinder Studio is an AI skit maker for Claude Desktop and Claude Code. Ask Claude for a skit and it casts it, writes it, voices it and renders the MP4 on your own Windows PC, for one payment. Pick a skit to hear one.

What is in the box

  • 38 characters. People, robots and a few animals, from The Boss and Judge Harlan to Mochi the shiba and Cinder, our ember-orange bot. They are 3D models, so a face looks the same in every shot and every episode.
  • 15 sets. Night Desk, Meeting Room, Game Show, Podcast Studio, Midnight Kitchen, Night Court (Day Session) and more.
  • 40 voices. Voiced on your own PC, so there is no charge per line.
  • 3 looks. Cozy low-poly, clay and toon ink, chosen per skit. Compare them.

Your first skit in three messages

These steps are from the Cinder Studio v1 README.

  1. “Make me a Cinder Studio skit.” The first time, Claude asks for your licence key. Then it asks a few simple questions, one or two at a time: what kind of skit, what it is about, the joke, which characters, which look and which voices. It shows pictures and can play voice samples. Say “you pick” for anything you do not mind about.
  2. Storyboard stills. You see the shots before anything is voiced. Say what to change in plain words, like “make the ending funnier” or “swap the voices”.
  3. “Looks good, render it.” Claude renders in the background and opens the video when it is done. A first video takes a few minutes, the very first one a bit longer.

Ask for a draft when you want it faster and smaller, then the final. If one line sounds wrong, say “redo line 4” and only that line is voiced again. Finished videos land in C:\Users\you\CinderStudio\projects.

Make your own cast

As the README puts it, the gallery is not a limit. Describe a character or a room in your own words: a woman in her fifties with a grey bob, round glasses and a green blazer, or a laundromat at 2 a.m. with a flickering OPEN 24H sign. Claude designs it, draws a picture and asks what to change. A new character takes a voice from the list.

What you make is saved in the custom folder and stays available for every later video, so a series keeps the same cast and the same room. Nothing is uploaded.

What you can do with the videos

The personal licence covers the videos you make, including ones you publish and monetise on your own channels, on up to 3 of your own computers. How a skit does depends on the writing, so read how to make AI skits for the rules we post with.

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11.
  • Claude Desktop or Claude Code, with your own access.
  • 8 GB of memory (16 GB is comfortable) and about 6 GB of free disk.
  • A graphics card is optional; an NVIDIA card makes voicing faster.
  • The internet for the install and a licence check about once a month. Your scripts, voices and videos stay on your computer.

Questions

Can I monetise the skits I make?

Yes. The personal licence covers the videos you make, including ones you publish and monetise on your own channels. It covers up to 3 of your own computers.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You ask Claude in plain words, it asks you a few questions, shows you storyboard stills and renders the MP4. The installer is a double-click.

How long does a skit take?

Installing takes 10 to 30 minutes, once. After that a first video takes a few minutes, and the very first one a bit longer. A longer skit takes proportionally longer, and a computer with 8 GB of memory works but needs patience.

Can I fix one line without redoing the whole skit?

Yes. Say “redo line 4” and Claude voices only that line again.
