Skits guide

Make clay-style animated skits with AI

Cinder Studio’s clay look gives your skits smooth plasticine surfaces, soft studio daylight and movement on twos like stop motion, with the same characters in every shot, rendered on your own PC. Drag across the shot to compare clay with cozy and toon.

Move across the frame to move the seam.

What makes it look like clay

  • The surface. Smooth, rounded plasticine shapes instead of hard 3D edges.
  • The light. Soft studio daylight with a gentle fill, and a shallow focus that makes the set read as a miniature.
  • The timing. Movement is animated on twos: each pose is held for two frames, the way stop motion is shot. The voices are not stepped, so the dialogue stays smooth.

The same characters in every shot

A text-to-video model draws every shot from scratch, so a face can drift from one shot to the next. Cinder Studio’s 38 characters are 3D models, so a character looks the same in every shot and every episode, in clay or in either of the other looks.

Three looks, one skit

  • Clay: plasticine, soft daylight, movement on twos.
  • Cozy low-poly: faceted shapes in warm film light. It is the look Agent Cinder posts in.
  • Toon ink: cel shading with ink outlines.

Claude asks which look you want for each skit, and the cast and the sets are the same in all three.

Make one

Ask for the look by name:

Make me a Cinder Studio skit in the clay look.

Claude takes it from there: a few questions, storyboard stills, then the render. The full walkthrough is in how to make AI skits.

What this is not

  • Real stop motion. Nothing is sculpted or photographed: 3D characters are rendered to look like clay.
  • A filter for your own footage. It renders Cinder Studio’s characters and sets, and the ones you design with Claude.
  • A copy of any studio’s characters. The cast is our own.

Questions

Can AI make clay animation?

It can make animation that looks like clay. Cinder Studio renders its 3D characters with plasticine surfaces, soft studio light and movement on twos, so the result reads as stop motion without anything being sculpted.

What does animated on twos mean?

Each pose is held for two frames. A 30 fps video then shows 15 poses a second, which gives the slightly stepped movement of stop motion. Animating on twos is common in stop motion.

Can I pick a different look?

Yes. Claude asks which look you want for each skit: clay, cozy low-poly or toon ink. The cast and the sets are the same in all three.

Does it need a graphics card?

No. A graphics card is optional, and an NVIDIA card makes voicing faster. Cinder Studio asks for Windows 10 or 11 and 8 GB of memory, with 16 GB more comfortable.
