Course

School of Cinder: build your own Claude video studio

Ten short video lessons and a starter project for building a skit studio yourself with Claude Code, Remotion and three.js, on your own PC. Lesson 1 is free: press Cinder’s face to play it.

Lesson 1 of 10 · free, on my face

What you build

The pipeline Cinder Studio grew out of, one part at a time. Claude writes the skit, a character made from simple shapes performs it, an open voice model voices it on your own PC, and Remotion renders the MP4. At the end you own a studio, and every line of its code.

The ten lessons

Each lesson is a narrated video of 17 to 25 seconds with a written chapter behind it.

The starter project

The course comes with a starter project that already makes a working skit: the character rig, the skit timeline, a voice script built on chatterbox-tts, and a tool that turns the voice track into mouth movement. From its README, first install it:

npm install

Put a voice sample at voices/your_voice.wav: 5 to 15 seconds of clean speech from one speaker, in a voice you have the right to use. Then voice the example script and turn it into mouth movement:

pip install chatterbox-tts soundfile
python tts.py script.example.json
node tools/envelope.mjs script.example.json

Run npm run studio to preview the skit, then npm run render for the MP4.

Who it is for

School of Cinder is for people who want to know how it works and build their own version. If you would rather ask for a skit and get the MP4, Cinder Studio is the finished studio, with 38 characters, 15 sets and 40 voices ready to use.

What you need

  • Claude Code.
  • Node and Python on your PC.
  • A graphics card helps for lesson 5, where you voice lines with an open model.

Questions

Is lesson 1 really free?

Yes. Lesson 1 plays on this page, with no sign-up. The other nine come with the full course.

Do I need to know how to code?

You should be comfortable in a terminal. Claude Code writes the code with you, and the starter project already has a working skit to start from.

What is the difference between the course and Cinder Studio?

The course teaches you to build a skit studio yourself, one part at a time. Cinder Studio is the finished studio: you ask Claude for a skit and get the MP4.

How long are the lessons?

Each lesson is a narrated video of 17 to 25 seconds, with a written chapter behind it.
